Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 60% original blue finish with a smooth plum patina on the balance. The lock retains 20% original case colors concentrated in the protected area of the hammer with a smooth gray and silver gray patina on the balance. The receiver retains 40% original dark case colors with a smooth dark patina on the balance. The lever has a smooth silver gray patina and the buttplate shows strong bright case colors mixed with a smooth brown patina. The wood is very fine with sharp edges, raised feathered wood, a minor grain stress crack radiating from the rear of the saddle ring bar base, and overall a few minor pressure dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. This example would be an excellent addition to one's Civil War collection.
