Description:

This open toe, open top holster was manufactured by Main & Winchester of San Francisco, California. The plain brown leather holster has a clear maker's marking on the front. It has a single matching brown leather belt loop that is stitched to the back. Main & Winchester Saddlery was one of the most well known Old West saddleries and produced a large number of different varieties of items from gun leather to saddle bags. Main & Winchester Saddlery opened its doors in 1849, the same year that the California Gold Rush began. At its peak of popularity, the company offered it clients more than 100 different types of saddles. In 1905 Main & Winchester merged with L. D. Stone to become Main Winchester and by 1912 the company was bought out by Keyston Brothers of San Francisco.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine. The leather has an attractive color showing minor handling marks. The belt loop is missing some stitching, otherwise the stitching is tight. The marker's marking is clear and crisp. This is the ultimate California Gold Rush accessory for a Colt Model 1851 Revolver!
