Manufactured in 1875, this is an example of a factory engraved Colt Open Top Pocket Revolver with silver plated finish and ivory grips. The heavy and bold Germanic style scroll engraving on a punch dot background is featured on the barrel, frame and cylinder with wedges of the engraving on the butt and behind the hammer. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." flanked by Maltese crosses and the left frame side is marked "22CAL". The revolver was manufactured without an ejector rod. Matching numbers on the barrel and butt.

Excellent. The revolver retains 85% of the original silver plating with the exposed areas of the frame having an aged patina on the brass and some flaking on the barrel. There is some minor pitting on the breech end of the barrel and on the cylinder. Much of the original bright blue finish remains on the hammer. The grips are excellent with a pleasant aged color and some slight shrinkage. The markings and engraving are crisp. The action is excellent.
