Manufactured in 1982 and shipped in 1984. Factory engraved by George Spring with gold inlaid scrollwork on the front sides of the barrel and six flush gold inlaid stars around the cylinder. Two gold inlaid bands at the rear of the barrel and matching bands on the ejector housing, front and rear. Gold inlaid borders around each cylinder flute and two bands at the rear of the cylinder. Gold inlaid wire border at the bottom of the frame. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL 45" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates on the left side of the frame. Blue finish with gold plated grip frame and fitted with smooth ivory grips with gold Colt medallions. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, royal blue and gold finish, ivory grips with Colt medallions, factory engraved by Master Engraver George Spring, listing the special gold features and that it was shipped as 1 to Northeast Gun & Supply Company, Needham, Mass., on Colt Custom Shop order number 2466, March 21, 1984. Included with plain brown shipping box with the Colt Custom Shop label numbered to gun.
