This is a Victorian era Officer's blue cloth Home Service pattern helmet of the North Staffordshire Regiment circa 1885. Gilt helmet star topped by the Victorian crown. Gilt acanthus wreath and garter circle wrap the central silver crest of the plumes of the Prince of Wales. A silver regimental title banner tops the acanthus wreath. Gilt spike and crossed base. Tudor rose ear bosses suspend a leather backed gilt chin chain. Gilded metal strip runs down the center of the rear peak. A gilt edge covers the fore peak. Green leather liner.

Excellent, the helmet shows some minimal wear on the outside cloth and gilt metal components. The interior shows light wear and remains very good.
