Description:

Measuring 36 3/4 inches in overall length, with a 30 3/4 inch straight etched blade, with the Victoria cipher in the left panel and the makers marking "McALPINE & COOPER/JERMYN .St/LONDON/S.W." in the right panel. Gold washed hilt, with a raised beaded design on the cross guard, knuckle guard, grip and pommel, lightly engraved borders on the dual quillons, and a golden ribbon sword knot with solid wire acorn. With a black painted sheath fitted with an engraved brass tip and a gold washed throat with ribbed designs and a seashell pattern frog stud.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with mild spotting and handling marks on the blade, along with a few scratches and dents. The etched panels are strong and well defined. Over 90% of the gilt finish is present on the hilt, with aged brass visible along the high edges, and some minor fraying of the knot. The sheath is fair as repaired, with cracks and chips on the repainted main body, a streak of black paint and filler material on the backside of the tip, and minor handling marks overall.
