This is a silver mounted horse's hoof with inscription and badge. The top has a silver cap with hallmarks on the top rear of "JB" in an oval next to a lion next to an "H" next to an unidentifiable mark and is engraved "GRENADIER 1891 to 1904" on the top front. There is an area for the blue glass to rest in at the top and the sides are decorated like fur. On the front of the hoof is a late gilt 5th Lancers cap badge with the King's crown.

Good, the silver is taking on an aged patina. The badge has a bright appearance. The hoof has areas of chipping on the sides with some repaired cracks on the bottom.
