Rating Definition:

1) The epaulettes are good with one having a missing embroidered crown and the anchor is slightly loose. The underside has black leather with a gold embossed label and padded blue fabric. All of the gold remains bright. The cocked hat is very good with some wear along the edges, the sweat band has some loose stitching and the gold has darkened with age. The stitching which holds the hat in the folded position has come loose. The belt is very good with considerable flaking of the black leather backing. The gold embroidery and gilt components have a generally bright appearance. The tin is very good with some scattered light dents and scratches with the latch and epaulette shelves broken. 2) Very good, The fur has some areas where it is detaching/deteriorating. There is some minor wear and insect tracking on the bag. Several areas of the chin chain have become unstitched and there are some bent links. The sweat band and lining are fine. The gold bullion cord has dulled with age. 4) Fine, with some minor wear overall. There is a faded ink stamp and an illegible blue handwritten marking on the lining.
