Description:

This is a Victorian era officer's 1880 pattern forage cap of the York & Lancaster Regiment. The body and top are composed of dark blue melton cloth. The peak is black leather with a row of silver bullion. There is a black lace cap band around the center and a bullion Regimental cap badge. At the top edge is a bullion cord line and on top is a pearl button and lace decoration. The interior is lined with purple silk having the "HAWKES & Co." gold embossed label and a leather sweatband. There is a black leather chin strap. With a black storage tin.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, the cap has a small hole on the top at the edge. The leather has some wrinkles. The bullion has aged. The lining has detached from the sweat band. The tin is very good with re-painted exterior with some minor dents.
