Description:

1) This is a contemporary British military style side drum. The body is composed of brass with the front side painted. At the top is a banner marked "1st Bn IRISH GUARDS." over the Royal Arms of Great Britain with the King's crown and "GR" cypher. The Order of St. Patrick is at the bottom center. There are 10 battle honors on the left side and 10 battle honors on the right side. Signed at the bottom left "A. Collins". The wooden rims are painted with red on the edges with a dark blue center stripe with a wavering white line on the blue stripe. 2) Small wooden display side drum marked "1st Bn THE BLACK WATCH (ROYAL HIGHLAND REGt)" on two banners at the top. There are 24 battle honors on the right side, 4 on the bottom center and 24 on the left side. In the center is the Coat-of-Arms of James VI. 3) Miniature 2nd Dragoon Guards officer's 1871 pattern helmet. Similar construction to a full size helmet.

Rating Definition:

1) Excellent, there are a few light scratches on the painted front and some scattered areas of aged patina. 2) Excellent, only a few light marks overall. 3) Very good, there are a few small dents and minor wear overall.
