Description:

This is an example of a Mauser Contract "Red 9" semi-automatic pistol. The trigger, safety, rear sight elevation bar and extractor have a brilliant niter blue finish, with the small ring variation hammer which is marked with the intertwined "NS" for new safety. The rear sight is graduated to 500 meters. The 23 groove grips have a large "9" filled with red paint carved into both sides. The right side of the pistol receiver is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A NECKAR.". The top of the barrel chamber is lightly marked "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N." All components have matching serial numbers including the grips. The Mauser "crown/U" proof mark is located on the upper left side of the receiver below the serial number and on the top left side of the bolt. The bottom of the barrel is marked with an "M/star", and with a series of small letters and numbers on the bottom flat. This example has no Imperial proof markings.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as arsenal refurbished with 98% of the finish remaining. A few light scratches and minor sharp and high edge wear, with faint markings on the barrel address. The grips are excellent having some very minor handling marks with 95% of the red paint remaining. Mechanically excellent.
