Description:

Manufactured by Mauser, these early rifles were used extensively by all branches of the German military to include the, Army, Navy and SS units to train their troops. They were a low cost alternative to using standard ammunition to train troops with and they duplicated the size, weight, and feel of a standard 98K rifle. The top of the receiver ring is marked with the "Mauser Banner" logo and the rear bridge is marked "KK-WEHRSPORTGEWHR"/MAUSER-WERKE,A.-G.-OBERNDORF a/N.". The left rear side of the barrel is marked "Kal 22 LANG FUR BUCHSEN" next to the serial number "35" followed by "D.F." and Nazi eagle "N" commercial proof at the breech. The bolt has a matching number "35" under an eagle "N" proof. The left side front of the receiver is also marked with the eagle proof. Fixed front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. It has the early style milled front barrel bands. Mounted with a smooth full pistol grip stock with a smooth steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 40% original blue finish with areas of smooth brown patina. The stock is good with a number of minor pressured dents and a few minor scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
