This is an example of Colt Model 1902 Military semi-automatic pistol that was manufactured in 1919. The pistol has the Colt high polish blue finish with casehardened spur hammer and lanyard swivel. The pistol has the square butt profile, 8-shot magazine, lanyard swivel, grip serrations on the rear of the slide and slide lock on the left side of the frame that identify it as a 1902 production model pistol. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped: "AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBER 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" in Gothic letters. A Colt inspection mark "47" is stamped on the right trigger guard web. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the two line, two-block 1897 and 1902 patent dates followed by the Hartford address. The Rampant Colt trademark is stamped on the left side of the slide behind the grip serrations. The serial number, "42865" is located on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with assembler's mark "1" above the Colt "Triangle/VP" proofmark. The two-piece black checkered hard rubber grips have the Rampant Colt trademark in a circle in the center and "COLT" in a ribbon at the top. The original all blue Colt magazine is marked on the floor plate: "CAL. 38/COLT".

Very fine with 97% plus of the original blue finish showing only very minor edge wear overall with some very minor scratching on the underside of the frame extension. There is a dime size sub spot present on the right side of slide. The replaced grips are fair with nice sharp markings but show more wear than balance of finish. Mechanically excellent.
