Manufactured in 1917, Colt manufactured approximately 18,000 of the Military Model 1902 between 1902 and 1928. The pistol has the rear of the slide serrated, rounded rear sight, rounded casehardened hammer, squared grip, 8 round magazine and casehardened lanyard loop on the lower left side of the frame (lanyard loop is absent). The pistol is fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and circled Rampant Colt in the center. The two-tone blue magazine is marked "MIL/COLT/38 CAL". The right side of the slide is marked "AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". The left side of the slide is marked "PATENTED/APR. 20. 1897 SEPTEMBER. 9. 1902." followed by "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG CO./HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.". The Rampant Colt is stamped on the left rear.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The pistol retains 60% of the original finish with a gray patina on the grip straps and high edges, a mixed brown patina overall, and scattered scratches and handling marks. Some lightly pitted spots of gray patina are present on the right muzzle end of the slide. Grips are also fine, with a few minor dings. The lanyard ring is absent. Mechanically excellent.
