This Colt Ace .22 automatic pistol was manufactured in late 1931. The Colt Ace was introduced by Colt in 1931 as a companion arm to the Model 1911A1 Government Model. Approximately 10,745 Ace pistols were manufactured by Colt before production of the commercial model ceased in July 1941. This pistol retains brilliant Colt commercial blue finish. The right side of the slide has the distinctive marking "COLT" followed by "ACE" enclosed in a diamond and ".22 LONG/RIFLE". The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the elongated two line Colt Hartford address and patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt trademark in front of the slide serrations. The left trigger guard bow has the assemblers mark "3" over the Colt triangle/VP proof. This pistol features a blued barrel with a bright chamber, an adjustable target rear sight and half moon front sight. Checkered arched mainspring housing lacking the lanyard loop which is proper for the Ace, milled checkered trigger, checkered wide hammer, and checkered slide release and thumb safety. Complete with checkered walnut grips and the original ''two-tone'' magazine stamped "COLT/ACE/.22 L R" on the floor plate.

Excellent 97% original finish showing scattered minor handling scratches and sharp edge wear to the front of the slide and frame extension, with crisp original markings. There is a light semi-circular scratch mark on the left side of slide caused by the takedown. The grips are excellent showing minor handling with well defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
