This example was manufactured in 1917, known as the 1902 Military due to the lanyard ring fitted to the lower corner of the grip frame. Marked on the left side of the slide "PATENTED/APR.20.1897. SEPT.9. 1902" followed by "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG.CO./HARTFORD, CT.U.S.A." with the Rampant Colt logo behind the serrations and on the right side of the slide "AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". Fitted with a checkered casehardened spur hammer, standard fixed sights, left side slide catch, smooth trigger and checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" banners at the top and circled Rampant Colts in the center. Complete with a blued magazine marked on the base "CAL. 38/COLT".

Excellent with 90% original finish with some light scratches, finish loss at the muzzle end of the slide, circular rub in the finish under the lanyard ring and sharp edge wear, with clear original markings. The grips are excellent showing some light handling. Mechanically excellent.
