This is a commercial production example that was manufactured in 1937. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line address and 1897 thru 1913 patent dates and the right side is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE .45" followed by the Rampant Colt motif. The right side of the frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the serial number. The left front trigger guard is marked "T" over the Colt "VP" proof, with "38" marked on the opposite side. This pistol has a period factory refurbished blue finish with matte blue finish on top of the slide, with a set of King sights, adjustable rear and fixed front, installed, along with a King wide checkered trigger shoe. This pistol features a checkered wide hammer, checkered slide catch and thumb safety and checkered arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop. The blued barrel with bright chamber is marked on the left side above the lug "COLT 45 AUTO" with an "R" stamped on the left lug and an "S" stamped on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the lug. It is fitted with brown plastic large ring grips, each having Sterling silver inlays of a droop winged (possibly Navajo Indian?) bird. Complete with a blue finish military Scovil manufactured magazine.

Very fine with 98% factory (or King) refurbished finish with a few minor scratches and only very sharp edge wear, with crisp original markings and proofs. The custom modified grips are excellent showing very minor handling. Mechanically excellent.
