This beautiful example was manufactured in 1944, and is the Type IV Variation with magazine safety and is stamped The left side of the slide has the two line, Colt address and patent dates, marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A."/over the 1897-1903 patent dates, with the Rampant Colt logo behind the slide serrations. The serial number is stamped on the left side of the frame with the Colt factory "VP/Triangle" proof on the front portion of the trigger guard bow. The right side has of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS", with "U.S. PROPERTY" stamped directly below that on the frame. This pistol is complete with an original blue magazine marked on the bottom of the base "CAL .32/COLT", along with the original cardboard shipping box with the nomenclature and stock number label on top of the lid. The bottom of the box has serial number, 568666, marked in pencil, and was crossed out with the matching serial number "567984" written in pencil on the lid. It is complete with an original Colt instruction sheet inside.

Near new in box with 99% plus original parkerized finish with just the slightest amount of minimal wear on the front edge of the slide. The grips are excellent with just a couple of minor handling marks. The box is about good with the corners broken out and retaped with the left side of the lid missing with some minor separation down the edges.
