Description:

This is an example of a late 1943 Ithaca production Model 1911A1 pistol. The slide is marked with the "P" proof on top in front of the rear sight and is marked on the left side in two lines "ITHACA GUN CO., INC./ITHACA, N.Y.", the right side is unmarked. Standard U.S. property markings on the right side of the frame, with the crossed cannon ordnance proof behind the right grip. The left side of the frame has the "FJA" inspector marking of Col. Frank J. Atwood, with a "P" proof next to the magazine catch. A number "7" is marked on the right front of the trigger guard bow. It has the Ithaca narrow serrated hammer, an Ithaca serrated arched mainspring housing with eight grooves, and the blued barrel is marked on the left side of the lug with the "P" proof and on the right lug "F". The safety and slide release levers are serrated. Fitted with Keyes brown plastic checkered grips with the reinforcing ribs inside and no reinforcing ring for the screws. Complete with a blued magazine marked "L" on the top lip of the base plate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% original parkerized finish showing scattered light scratches and handling, most wear at the muzzle end and sharp edges of the slide. The grips are very fine with some handling marks and light wear to the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
