Description:

This is an excellent example of an early 1943 production U.S. Army contract pistol as produced by Ithaca Gun Company. The left side of the slide is marked "ITHACA GUN CO. INC/ITHACA N.Y." and "P" proof in front of the rear sight. The right side of the slide is marked "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY". Ithaca 1911A1 pistols from about serial number 909,000 to 914,000 had slides marked in this manner. "FJA" inspector mark and crossed-cannon Ordnance proof are present. It has a correct wartime High Standard barrel marked "HS" and "P". Fitted with Keyes-Fibre wartime grips and with an unmarked parkerized magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus original finish showing scattered light scratches and sharp edge wear. The grips are excellent showing light handling and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
