Description:

This is a Victorian era Drum Majors sash. The sash is composed of a blue cloth with two strips of gold lace on the outside edges with red cloth under the gold lace. There is an embroidered Victorian crown at the top over the Order of the Garter over 44 battle honors on raised red velvet banners and a "sphinx/EGYPT" battle honor with gold embroidered thistle and laurel interspersed between them. On either side of the sash is a miniature drumstick with gilt ornaments. The backing is red leather with a "HOBSON & SONS" label.

Rating Definition:

Good, the gold lace and bullion has darkened with age. There is moderate wear on the leather backing.
