Description:

This is a nice example of a WWII M1 Garand. It was produced in Dec 1944 or Jan 1945. It has the original barrel that is marked on the side, SA-1-45 and it is fitted with most of the correct late war parts, some that were replacements to bring the rifle back into the original configuration. It has the late production Springfield bolt, (SA-19), a SA-14 marked trigger housing that includes the various internal Springfield marked parts. It is fitted with an original late WWII 9-SA, uncut operating rod and is fitted with a set of early war sights with locking bar and "BATTLE RANGE" drum on the rear. It has the wide gas cylinder with a "3" stamped on the top rear flat. It is fitted with a set of walnut, front and rear handguards and a later restoration/replacement WWII stock. The stock is also an original WWII version but was one of the parts used to restore this rifle back into it's correct configuration and is stamped with a single, legible boxed "SA/NFR" cartouche with a circled "P" proof over single encircled large "P" rebuild proof in the pistol grip area. It is complete with a green GI style web sling.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 95% of a late war GI parkerized finish on the barrel and receiver with 95% of a later parkerized finish on the remaining restored parts. The handguards are both in excellent condition and appear original to the rifle. Overall an excellent WWII M1 Garand.
