This is an example of a pre-Series 70 commercial Government Model pistol as manufactured by the Colt factory in 1970, the last year before the introduction of the 70 Series. This pistol is one of the few guns marked with the "BB" on the frame and barrel indicating a change made in the barrel bushing that would be utilized on the soon to be new 70 Series Government Models. Features checkered spur hammer, serrated trigger, thumb safety and slide release, grooved arched mainspring housing and checkered brown Colt plastic grips with the circled Colt logo.

Excellent 95% original finish with some handling scratches and sharp edge wear, along with some slight thinning of the finish on the grips straps, with crisp original markings. The grips are excellent showing light handling with sharp checkering and detail.
