Description:

This is an example of an early pre-WWII German "G" date Luger pistol, that was manufactured by the Mauser factory. These "G" Lugers were all produced during the time of the early rearmament by the Nazi with the "G" date being the secret code for 1935. The top of the chamber has the single "G" date with the "S/42" Mauser code on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the early "eagle/63" droop wing acceptance and the underside of the barrel has the serial number and bore diameter. It has the correct Gesichert and Geladen marked safety and extractor with the full serial number on the frame, barrel extension and barrel with the last two digits on the various small parts. These Lugers have a fixed front and rear sight and it's fitted with a blue "fxo" marked WWII magazine with an aluminum base that is marked "8892/u". It has matching numbers on all the parts except the magazine as noted and the grips which are unnumbered.

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially refinished (cold blue on barrel, frame rails, and side plate) with 60% of the much faded original blue finish showing wear on the edges and high spots overall with thinning on the rear grip strap and left muzzle area. The various small parts retain 50% of their straw colors. The grips are also in very good condition with nice checkering in the center section of each grip panels with wear and loss of checkering on the front and bottom edge of both grips with some minor handling marks in a couple areas.
