Description:

This is a double dated DWM Artillery Luger pistol manufactured in 1918 and subsequently reworked in 1920. The chamber is double dated "1920/1918" with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. Standard artillery rear sight with the nine position adjustments, graduated to 800 meters. It has standard safety and extractor markings, with military style serial number placement on the various parts. It has the standard WWI German Army "Crown/Gothic" letter inspection stamps and firing proofs. The magazine is WWI style nickel plated version with a wood bottom marked on the bottom, "8941/d/+". The holster is maker marked inside under the flap, the marking being too faint to read clearly, and is complete with an original un-proofed takedown tool in the small pouch inside the flap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% original finish and 90% partially refurbished straw finish on the small parts, with edge and high spot wear overall with minor handling with crisp original markings and proofs. All of the serial numbers match with the exception of the magazine. The takedown latch is a remarked, refinished/replacement, possibly by arsenal. The re-oiled grips are excellent, showing some minor handling and very few dings with sharp checkering. The holster is good and complete having some surface leather wear with the original stitching intact.
