The left side of the frame below the rear sight is marked with the serial number, while the buttstock shows "FN HERSTAL BELGIUM FS2000 CAL. 5.56x45" over "FNH USA FREDERICKSBURG VA". The safety selector is located beneath the trigger for convenience. After firing the empty cases are ejected through a forward port.
