This rifle was built on a Springfield Model 1903 action and has a hooded fixed ramp front sight on a blued barrel with a jeweled bolt and follower. The barrel is marked "NO 1240 GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK" on top with "30-06 GOV." on the left side near the breech. Features a barrel band sling swivel, adjustable Lyman receiver sight mount with a blank inserted. Custom walnut one-piece checkered pistol grip stock with a steel grip cap, ebony forearm tip, raised cheekpiece, swivel stud and a checkered/engraved fancy steel buttplate with a trap door. The Lyman peep sight is stored in the buttstock. The silver initial oval is marked "GDL". Mounted with a Lyman 2 1/2 power Alaskan scope with leather lens covers on a quick release Griffin and Howe mount.

Very fine. The rifle retains 90% of the finish with some very light sharp edge wear and handling/storage marks. The floor plate is thinning and beginning to show a grey/brown patina. The wood is very fine as reoiled with light handling/storage marks. The right side of the forestock has a couple of small dings. The scope optics are clear with the blue showing light handling/storage marks. Mechanically excellent.
