Description:

Manufactured from 1866 to the late 1880s with a total production of approximately 8,000. These pistols feature a unique pivoting breechblock. The top of the barrel is marked "CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANFG CO NAUBUC CONN." and the top of the breechblock is marked "PATENTED OCT. 25. 1864" and the serial number is marked on the left side of the frame under the grip. Brass blade front sight and a notch in the breechblock release button serves as the rear sight. Blue barrel and casehardened remaining parts, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 85% original bright blue finish with some thinning, edge wear, a small area of minor pitting on the upper right flat and a few minor scratches. The breech block retains 70% original case colors with a smooth silver gray patina on the balance. The frame retains 40% original case colors with a smooth silver gray on the balance. The grips are excellent with some light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
