JENKS/U.S.N./RP/P/1847/CAST STEEL" immediately ahead of the oval loading port. The lock plate is marked "REMINGTON'S/HERKIMER/N.Y." The underside of the breech lever is stamped "1/36". Smooth straight grip stock with brass furniture, sling ring behind the trigger and "P" stamps on some of the components.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The barrel retains 20% original brown finish in the protected areas with the balance a mottled brown patina. The lock retains silvered out original case colors in and around the protected areas with the balance a smooth dark patina. The brass has a mixed aged patina. The stock is excellent with a couple deep dents, a small hairline stress crack near the barrel tang and some minor handling marks. Mechanically also very good.
