The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address, the left side of the frame is marked with the two line two patent dates and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "36 CAL". The cylinder is roll engraved with the stagecoach hold up scene and marked "COLTS PATENT/No 5443". The complete matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, the partial serial number "05443" is marked on the cylinder pin and the wedge is mis-matched. Nickel finish with niter blue screws, wedge and trigger, casehardened hammer and fitted with a smooth one-piece varnished walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original nickel finish with some minor flaking on the cylinder. Overall there are a few minor dents and dings. The hammer retains 90% plus case colors. The grip is good with most of the original varnish remaining, showing some very minor wear on the lower edges, a moderate chip on the lower left side and overall some scattered minor dents. The cylinder scene and markings are clear. The action is excellent.
