Description:

The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, etched panel "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left side, three line/three patent dates on the left side of the frame and "44.C.F." on the upper left front of the trigger guard. The bottom of the barrel just ahead of the cylinder pin is marked "44" and the matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "681" on the loading gate. Ejectorless model, blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish and fitted with a smooth one-piece walnut grip. The accompanying factory letter states that serial number 122389 was .44-40 caliber, 4 inch barrel length, nickel finish, "wood" grip and was shipped to Simmons Hardware Co. St. Louis, Mo. On May 15, 1899.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored overall. The revolver retains 99% nickel finish with some minor handling marks and some areas beginning to frost. The grip is near mint. The markings and etched panel are clear. The action is excellent.
