Description:

Manufactured in 1871, the first year of production, and correctly fitted with the distinctive 4-round cylinder. Blade front sight integral with the barrel, which is marked "COLT'S HOUSE PISTOL/HARTFORD CT U.S.A." flanked by Maltese crosses and the matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel and on the butt. The ejector rod is mounted in the cylinder pin and extends through a lug on the bottom of the barrel almost to the muzzle. Blue barrel and cylinder, silver plated brass frame, niter blue hammer and fitted with two piece varnished rosewood grips.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished. The revolver retains 25% blue finish mixed with a mottled dark gray patina. There is some minor pitting on the cylinder. The brass has an aged patina with traces of the original aged darkened silver in the sighting groove. Much of the bright original niter blue finish remains on the hammer. The grips are fair with a number of minor dents and dings. The barrel address is readable. The action is fine.
