Description:

Manufactured from 1909 to 1923, this model is also known as Perfected Target Pistol. The rib is marked with the standard two line Springfield address/patent dates (1901 and 1909) marking and the caliber marking on the right side. "SMITH & WESSON" is marked on left side of barrel and "MADE IN USA" on the left side of frame followed by the Smith and Wesson trademark. Light scroll and punch dot engraving on part of the barrel and a majority of the frame. Has Olympic barrel which engages the bullet nose into the grooves and lands and consequently requires the cartridge to be pushed in the last 1/8". Has a blade front sight and adjustable notch rear sight built into the barrel latch. Blue with casehardened hammer and trigger. Checkered walnut grips with S & W monograms

Rating Definition:

Fine as professinally period embellished. There is a small bright area on the middle to breech side of the barrel as well as some finish loss near the muzzle. The grips are excellent with a minor chip near the front grip strap and small dent on bottom left grip, checkering is crisp. Markings and engraving are crisp. Mechanically excellent.
