This is an exceptional example of a late production Simson & Co. "S" Code Luger pistol rig. This particular example is one of the last produced serial number 1862a (highest number known to writer 1888a) of a variation that is seldom, if ever found. In total there were over 12,000 Luger produced by the Simson Co. under the Weimar Republic with all these being issued to the Reichswehr, Military and Police units. The chamber is undated and the front toggle has the later single "S" code for the Simson Company. The right side of the barrel extension has several small "Eagle 6" acceptance/firing proofs as used by the Simson Company along with the small Weimar Eagle acceptance proof. It has the military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the major components with the last two digits on the small parts with the Eagle/6 Simson acceptance proof on many if not all of the small parts. It has the standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" safety and extractor markings. It is fitted with standard checkered walnut grips. Has been updated, mag removed. It is complete with a early Police style Luger holster that is marked on the back: "ROBERT LARSEN/BERLIN/1934".

Excellent overall with 98% of the original blue finish remaining with extremely minor holster wear present on the edges and high spots. The small parts retain 75% of their straw colors with the trigger being restrawed. The grips are both in excellent condition with nice checkering. This Luger has matching numbers to include one magazine as noted above. The holster is in very fine plus condition with much of the original black color overall, showing some color loss on top of the flap, lower toe and edges of the magazine pouch. The stitching is tight and intact overall and the markings are clear and sharp. An exceptional example of a late 1920s era Simson Luger rig.
