Description:

This is an exceptional example of a DWM 1906 Commercial Luger 1 of approximately 4,000 of these pistols were manufactured for commercial sales in the 9mm caliber. The toggle is marked with the "DWM" logo and the top of the chamber is correctly blank. There is a "crown/N" proofmark on the left side of the barrel extension, breechblock and front toggle. Serial numbered in a commercial manner with number on the front of the frame, and partial serial number "70" on the takedown lever, side plate and rear toggle. The safety lower position is unmarked and bright, and the extractor is marked "GELADEN". All blue finish with straw colored small parts, grip safety, nickel magazine with wooden base which is correctly marked "Cal 9 m/m". Fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus. The pistol retains 98% plus original, high quality blue finish with some minor muzzle and high edge wear. Almost 97% of the original straw color remains on the small components. The grips are also excellent with a couple mild bruises in the otherwise sharp checkering. The markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent. One will have difficulty locating a better correct original example of this much sought after Luger variation! (Now is your opportunity!)
