Produced between 1940 and 1945, this grouping of pistols were brought into Sweden by J.V. Astrom, the leading Walther importer during and after the War and a prime supplier of weapons to the Swedish police forces. Through technically a participant in Finland's Continuation War with Russia, Sweden maintained it's neutrality during World War II through a combination of political maneuvers and military strength, importing arms from Axis and Allies alike to maintain that strength, while at the same time using their neutrality to supply covert aid to the Allies. Fixed sights, with the Walther banner, 2-line address and caliber markings, and "Mod. PP" etched on the left side of the slide, "eagle/N" commercial proofs on the slide, chamber and muzzle, and the hand marked matching number on the inside of the slide. Equipped with a ring hammer, loaded chamber indicator, 60 degree safety, checkered black plastic grips and a swiveling lanyard ring on the butt. In a wood grain pattern box, adorned with the gilt Walther banner, "PP" and the raised profile of the pistol itself, matching numbered green and white end label with red and white "mit/Signalstift" (with Indicator) add on label, and the green ink stamp "Representant: J.V. Astrom/Bjurtjarn/Sverige Telefon No. 1" on the inside. Also included with the pistol are the traditional pair of magazines (matching black extension and flat base styles), a golden yellow cleaning cloth and a small cleaning material tin with raised Walther banner on the lid.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 99% plus original blue finish, showing a few minor scratches and handling marks overall. Grips are equally excellent. Box is fine, with a small amount of rubbing. Mechanically excellent.

Serial Number:

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

As described in A, with the addition of a cleaning rod to the pistol accessories.

Rating Definition:

Excellent 99% with original factory box, with only a few small scratches and handling marks overall. The box is very good, with mild wear. Mechanically excellent. This grouping of pistols represents a singular assembly of desirable features, bordering on the edge of statistical impossibility; a Wartime PP in so high a condition, with the original matching numbered box, and the crisp and clear Swedish merchant markings would be a scarce item in its own right, but to take those features across a set of THREE consecutive numbered pistols puts this lot in the realm of the truly advanced Walther collector.
