This is an excellent example of a Mauser S/42 1938 dated Luger pistol. The chamber is dated "1938" with the "S/42" code on the toggle. "Eagle/63" and "stick wing eagle" proofs on the right side of the barrel extension and on the barrel with the firing proof on the left side of the breechblock and "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" on the upper safety area and extractor, respectively. Matching serial number on the left side of the barrel extension, frame and barrel with the partial serial number "27" on most of the small components. Blue magazine with aluminum base marked "6437/i" and "eagle/63" proof and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% original blue finish, showing some thinning on the muzzle and grip straps, some bright edge wear and a small area of minor oxidation on the muzzle. The grips are also excellent with some minor pressure dents and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
