A) Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver

Description:

Manufactured in 1862. Standard markings and features. Stagecoach holdup scene on the cylinder. Matching visible numbers, wedge mis-matched and fitted with a smooth varnished one-piece walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth dark patina with scattered original blue finish on the barrel. The trigger guard and back strap retain 20% original silver plating mainly in the protected areas of the trigger guard and top of the back strap. The grip is very good with a moderate chip on the left toe, some lower edge wear and a few minor dings and dents. The cylinder scene is visible and the markings clear. The action functions but has weak hammer spring.

Description:

Model 2 manufactured in 1855. standard markings with pointing hand barrel address, and Indian and cabin scene on the cylinder. Fitted with a smooth one-piece walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish mainly on the frame, with a smooth brown patina on the balance of the revolver. There are a number of small dings on the back strap, and some minor oxidation on the butt. The grip is undersize and has been revarnished, and remains good with clumps of dry varnish on the butt, some light lower edge wear and a few minor handling marks. The action needs work, the cylinder does not rotate when the hammer is cocked. The cylinder scene is visible and the markings are clear.
