This model was created by modifying an Officer's Model frame to accept a special flat single shot "cylinder". Colt only manufactured about 2,488 of these single shot pistols from 1926 to 1941. The included factory letter for this pistol confirms the caliber and barrel length with stocks not listed and blue finish at time of shipment. The revolver was shipped to Charles Latnor of Louisville, Kentucky, on June 1, 1937 and the factory records do not indicate engraving at time of shipment and quite possibly the individual commissioned the custom work. The revolver has a well executed extensive scroll and punch dot engraving that covers most of the metal surfaces including the barrel, frame sides, trigger guard and butt. The engraving surrounds the Colt two line Hartford address and caliber markings on the barrel and the left side of the "cylinder" is stamped "CAMP PERRY MODEL". The left side of the frame has the Rampant Colt and the trigger guard has the Colt triangle proof and the number "4". It has a checkered backstrap and is equipped with an elevation adjustable front blade and windage adjustable notch rear sights. Fitted with smooth pearl grips with Colt medallions. The revolver comes with a Colt wooden case that has been modified to fit this pistol.

Very fine as custom embellished during the period. The revolver retains 99% plus of the blue finish. The grips are near mint with a very attractive color. Mechanically excellent. Case is good minor handling marks.
