Manufactured in 1984. The receiver is very nicely engraved with a Cap Buffalo scene flanked by a floral vine design on each side. The remainder of the receiver has the same floral vine design with the skull of a Cape Buffalo on the top rear. The receiver has gold wire inlaid borders. The top of the receiver on the right side is marked with the Mauser banner followed by Mod. 66 S" and "MAUSER WERKE Oberndorf GmbH" on the top left side. The octagon barrel has a solid rib with a integral ramped front blade sight and folding leaf rear sight. The muzzle and breech end have gold inlaid wire bands. There is a decoration gold inlaid design on the sights of the front sight ramp, sides of the front scope base and upper rear barrel flats. The left rear of the barrel is marked with a "eagle/N" proof followed by "IE" Ulm antler proof. There is a sling swivel mounted on the underside of the barrel. The bolt handle and trigger guard have the same floral vine design, with gold inlaid wire border and accents on the bolt handle. The rifle is equipped with a Zeiss 1.5-6x42 scope. The rifle is mounted with a very nicely figured one-piece walnut pistol grip stock with a horn forend and fish scale and floral leaf caving on the forearm and wrist and floral leaf designs on each side at the butt. The stock has a cheek piece, three round cartridge compartment, sling swivel and black vented recoil pad.

Excellent. The rifle retains 99% original blue finish with a protective coating on the metal which has dried to a goldish color. All of the gold inlay remains. The stock is also excellent with only a few light handling marks. The scope is very good with 99% plus original finish and slightly cloudy optics. The action is excellent.
