This is an experimental single shot benchrest bolt action receiver as manufactured by Fabrique Nationale. Consignor states that the action has a .223 bolt face. The top of the receiver is tapped for scope mounting and the rear right side is tapped for a sight. The left side of the receiver has the serial number over Belgian proofs and the right side is marked "FN" inside an oval over "MADE IN BELGIUM". It has a trigger assembly with a plain trigger. Blue finish including the bolt. The single shot benchrest action would later be advertised with a bolt face for standard, Magnum or .222 cartridges and could be supplied with the FN Mauser trigger assembly with the Sako adjustable trigger assembly or without a trigger.

Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
