The top of the barrel is engraved "No1868 GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK", has a sling barrel band base near the center and has two scope target blocks mounted towards the breech end. The receiver and lever have nicely executed floral scroll engraving. There is a top tang safety with gold highlighted "SAFE" marking. Appears to be chambered for a bottleneck .25 cartridge round. Mounted on a nice straight grain walnut multi-point checkered forearm with ebony forend and pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece, steel grip cap, silver initial oval, rear sling stud and checkered steel buttplate.

Professionally refurbished, 99% of the blue finish remains with only minor marks. 70% of the muted case colors remain with a pleasant silver color on the balance. The wood is excellent with two small filled holes on the right side of the buttstock and only minor handling marks. Action needs work.
