Manufactured in 1894. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, with the assembly number "559" on the loading gate. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, and fitted with checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt/American Eagle relief grips.

Fine as partially refinished (cold blue touch up). The balance of revolver retains 30% original blue finish concentrated mainly in the protected areas and in the cylinder flutes, with a brown patina on the balance. There is a small amount of very minor pitting on the barrel and top strap. The front sight has been lowered slightly. The frame retains 30% plus original case colors in the protected areas ahead of the cylinder, with a smooth mottled gray patina on the balance. The undersize replacement grips are good showing moderate overall wear, a few dings and prominent checkering pattern. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
