This example was manufactured in 1944 and has the type III slide marking. Has the standard fixed low profile sights, serrated slide stop, checkered thumb safety, checkered magazine release, serrated arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop and a stamped checkered trigger. The hammer is checkered with polished sides and the grip safety has a rough surface. "FJA" inspector mark on left side of frame, "P" under magazine release, "P" on top of the slide, ordnance cartouche on right side of frame and "HS" marked blue barrel. Fitted with a set of brown checkered plastic grips with a ring around the screw and a "K" inside a star and "21" on the inside of the left and a "20" on the right. With a brown leather shoulder holster embossed "US" in a circle on the front and stamped "U.S./SEARS SADDLERY CO./1943".

Very fine, 85% plus original parkerized finish overall with a replacement hammer and a replacement refinished grip safety. The slide retains 95% original finish with some high edge wear and a few scuff marks. The frame retains 80% original parkerized finish with some front strap and trigger guard wear. The miscellaneous small parts retain 98% original parkerized finish with minor wear. The barrel retains half of the original blue finish with scuffing. The grips are both excellent with a few minor marks on the right panel. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very good with scuffing, age cracking and wear.
