Manufactured in 1880. This is a Second Model 1876 rifle with the dust cover rail attached to the top of the receiver by two screws. Ivory blade and modified sporting rear sights with a full length magazine. Top barrel flat is stamped with the two line address/King's Improvement patent dates and "CAL 45-60" at the breech and upper tang is marked "MODEL 1876.". The brass cartridge elevator is marked "45-60" and the lower tang has the serial number. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with iron forend cap and crescent trapdoor buttplate (cleaning rod not included). Special order features include extra length 28 inch octagon barrel and single set trigger.

Very good plus. The rifle retains 30% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The hammer and lever show hints of faded original case colors with a smooth mottled gray on the balance. The wood is good with numerous scattered minor dings and scratches. The extractor is a crude replacement. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
