Description:

Manufactered in 1898. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights with the rear sight graduate to 1,800 yards. The left side of the receiver has the two line address/patent dates marking and the chamber is marked "U.S." Small three letter inspection marks appear on the bolt and hammer. The upper tang has the two line model marking. Two barrel bands with a bayonet lug on the front. Smooth straight grip stock with finger groove forearm, leather sling and crescent buttplate with trapdoor.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The musket has a smooth artificial gray patina on the receiver with pin point pitting. Front barrel band screw is missing. The wood is good with a couple minor chips missing near the upper tang, ill-fitting buttplate and some minor handling marks. No matter what the condition is, U.S. marked Model 1895 Muskets are very scarce!
