Manufactured in 1894. Blade front and folding leaf rear sights with the top barrel flat stamped with the two line address ahead of the rear sight and caliber marking "40-65 W.C.F." stamped at the breech. The upper tang is marked "-MODEL 1886-" and the lower tang is stamped with the serial number and two line 1884/1885 patent dates marking. The rifle has a full length magazine tube and a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with steel forend cap and crescent buttplate.

Fair. The rifle retains traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina showing some minor pitting. There are a couple dents on the magazine. The revarnished wood is also fair with a few cracks, a missing minor chip (left side of forearm) and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
