Manufactured circa 1881 to 1913, also known as the New Model Navy No 3. This particular revolver is a scarce variation equipped with target sights. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates. The matching serial number is marked on the butt, rear face of the cylinder, barrel latch and barrel. Nickel finish with casehardened hammer and trigger, and blue barrel latch and trigger guard. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the S&W logo at the top and patent date on the lower left.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original nickel finish showing only thinning concentrated on the left side of the barrel and a few collector type handling marks. The latch and trigger guard retain 99% bright brillant original blue finish. Most of the original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The face of the recoil shield exhibits all of the original factory polish marks. The grips faded to brown and remain excellent with only light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent.
