Description:

Manufactured from 1865 to 1868 this is an excellent example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1 1/2 1st Issue revolver with factory case. The top of the barrel rib has the two line address/patent dates marking. Blade front sight, spur trigger and 5-shot un-fluted cylinder. The assembly number "x6" is stamped on the rear of the barrel lug, front cylinder face and back strap under left grip panel with the serial number stamped on the butt. The right edge of the recoil shield shows the most minor rounded edge indicating this revolver has spent its entire existance in this case! Fitted with smooth varnished rosewood grips with the right panel numbered to the gun. The original case is lined in brown velvet and has a wooden cartridge block for 40 rounds.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original bright blue finish showing onlhy minor speckling of brown. The hammer and ejector echibit vibrant original case colors. The grips are excellent with some scattered minor handling marks and retaining nearly all of their original varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent with worn lining and some minor handling marks.
