Manufactured from 1886 to 1890. The barrel has blade and adjustable sporting sights with a full length magazine. The chamber is stamped "Cal/45" and the left side of the receiver is stamped with the two line address/1881 patent date marking. The serial number is stamped behind the hammer and the upper tang has a peep sight. The rifle has a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with non-factory wrist checkering. There is a cheekpiece, buttstock sling swivel and flat steel buttplate.

Poor as refinished. The rifle is mostly a buffed metal, smooth artificial gray patina overall. The bent up magazine tube has a few tool marks towards the tip. The wood is fine with a repaired forearm and a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
